Everyone’s fave Make Your Own Havaianas is going digital via HAVAIANAS.PH from May 15 to 31!
There’s a long list of things we miss: hanging out at milk tea shops, running through airports clutching a boarding pass, pushing up sunglasses to better see the Philippine waters, and getting our summer staples every year at Make Your Own Havaianas (MYOH).
MYOH is everyone’s favorite summer event to mix and mingle. Although it’s been going on for more than a decade, this annual celebration still brings together both old and new faces with every iteration. It was that specific energy and highly personal aspect that the Havaianas team wanted to focus on bringing this year, despite these trying times.
“MYOH is such a multi-sensory, social experience, that making sure we were able to capture the same excitement in the digital space is something that we hope to accomplish,” shares Anne Arcenas-Gonzalez, the stylish pioneer who brought the magic of Havaianas to our shores.
From May 15 to 31, HAVAIANAS.PH will go live with an MYOH assembly event that will put Cher from Clueless’ closet to shame. Select Havaianas stores nationwide will also have the MYOH range assembly-ready for walk-ins.
With everyone’s health and safety as the main concern, it may not be the exact same Make Your Own Havaianas experience we all know and love — but even in these new formats, Havaianas will not relent in its incredible offering of customizable designs and attentive customer service crew.
This year, we’re seeing 2 sole options across a palette of 9, for mixing and matching with 12 strap colorways, to be topped off with 10 pins for every sort of wanderlust. This wide range of combinations means that there’s a Havaianas pair for all occasions — even if those occasions are simply just moving from couch to couch.
For your own work from home secret, try stepped up neutrals like the Slim Rose Gold. For Zoom parties and drive-by celebrations, we recommend the colorful and festive Neon pairs. And for days when you actually want to wear makeup, glam pairs nicely with the dressy glitter straps topped off with a pin of your choice.
Havaianas is also bringing back some of its greatest hits in past MYOH runs, such as the Pride flag and VW Beetle pins, and the Rio sole.
“In the midst of a gloomy moment, we want to bring sunshine to our customers’ feet all over the Philippines,” Gonzalez shares of their decision to bring back the fan favorite Rio. “At the same time, it’s about going back to our roots. The Rio pair embodies the bold, beach loving, optimistic vibe of Havaianas’ home country, Brazil.”
There’s a certain comfort in the familiar — and this digital Make Your Own Havaianas will definitely tide over any Havaiantico until the next time we can take a fearless step forward together.
